Yulokod Studios

The resident artist and founder of Yulokod is Ani Thubten Jamyang Donma, known simply as ani J., or Tsunma Jamyang, is an ordained nun in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. Tsunma Jamyang is a Certified Clinical Chaplain and Registered Psychotherapist at a renowned Pediatric Insitution where she leads an initiative called "The Mindfulness Project." Through this initiative she along with her team teach mindfulness & compassion meditation, and resilience skills. Tsunma Jamyang is also an instructor for Rangyung Yeshe Gomde Cooperstown & Samye Institute where she instructs Buddhist Practice, Applications to Daily Life, End of Life Support, Philosophy, and Meditation. Also known as Catherine A. Brock before taking ordination as a Buddhist nun, Tsunma Jamyang's relationship with glass painting began with training in traditional ecclesiastical glass painting in Toronto, Canada at the renowned glass studio Robert McCausland Ltd. Founded in 1856, this studio is Canada’s pre-eminent and oldest ecclesiastical glass studio. She apprenticed there for 7 years restoring and creating windows for sacred spaces which included churches, synagogues, government buildings, mausoleums, universities and private shrines. She has been the artistic director, designer and painter for many other glass studios including: Artistic Glass, Han Stained Glass, Art Glass Studio, Solarium, Classic Crystal and many others for aprox. 40 years. She currently has her own studio "Yulokod Studios" located in Cambridge , Ontario. Where she offers custom creations in glass, with specialties in handpainted glass, authentic historical design and himalayan art. As well Yulokod Studios offers a curated selection of items to support enlightened living, wellness and the spiritual seeker.
